Walmsley stops the rot and reduces his handicap by 3

In the week before Captain's Day I had a lesson with Paul Walmsley. Based on Paul's Master Scoreboard data, he had been struggling to put a decent score together.

30 minutes with his pro using the video analysis and look what happened. 

19th June - handicap 20 
25th June - handicap 17 

Paul is delighted and so am I! It is fantastic to be able to help golfers improve their scores like this.

Professional Prize 2016 

Our ladies section competed for my prize last week. Every year for the last 19 years I have sponsored a ladies competition and this year the winner was Sarah Munro with a nett 70, with Cathy Bulloch and Gill Moore coming in joint 2nd with nett 72. 

Sarah had won the week earlier too so she's obviously in great form! I am very pleased for Sarah as she has invested in her game with tuition from Lora Fairclough and custom fitted Cobra irons and hybrids from her pro. Well done Sarah and good luck for the rest of the season. 


 

Qualify to play in our Pro Am with your Professional Andrew Greenbank 

With 2 of the 3 qualifiers now complete you have just one chance to make the PGC Pro Am team. 

Mark Whalley qualified from Duggies Day and joins Neil Gibson to play alongside myself on Friday, 22 July in the Pro Am.


Preston Golf Club Pro-Am 2016 

On Friday, 22 July we will welcome the PGA and the North Region top professionals to Preston GC. 

The professionals selected to play in this event are taken from the top 35 on the order of merit standings. 

These professionals will play alongside 3 amateurs to make up a team with 2 scores to count on each hole.

Expert Fitting and Tuition on your doorstep  

I have had many excellent sessions in the swing room this week and have chosen to feature an outstanding change from one of our members.

Gill Moore and her driver can have a love hate relationship at times! With Gill's ball cutting to the right and not achieving optimum distance, it was time to look at the technique on camera.

 

 

As a result of these changes, Gill hit the ball with a baby draw, the shape of shot which is the envy of most golfers.

Junior Development Programme  

Do you know any children that would like to try golf? We have the best facility, the best teachers and we have spaces available for our next 6 week course. 

PGA Assistant Pro Jonny, will deliver a session on Saturdays 11am - 12pm and we welcome all youngsters to attend. ( NOW FULL ) 

We hope the demand for these sessions takes off and can add further groups to our current session which take place on 

- Monday, 5pm - 6pm & 6pm - 7pm 
- Wednesday, 4pm - 5pm 
- Saturday, 11am - 12 noon ( FULL )

- £30 for 6 x 1 hour sessions. 

We are currently drawing up a summer holiday day camp programme which be available to book soon.
