My pupils have had a great week of success as they put together some super scores. Peter Lam
used his new swing tips and new forged irons to great effect in the Colin Rigby last Thursday with a nett 65.
On the same day Ian Butcher
claimed the gross prize with a steady 74. Phil Gornall
won the Gallaway on Saturday with a fantastic score of 71 gross - 67 Nett in a strong wind. Stood on the 14th tee at 3 under par he was heading for the round of the year but a few dropped shots coming in still produced a very good round of golf.
Earlier in the week Phil
and I had an hour in the swing room looking at his delivery/strike numbers on Flightscope. Some adjustments to his swing plane for irons enhanced his delivery and resulted in improved start line to his flight.
Well done guys!!

Is it the 'Big Three' or the 'Big Four'?
Just when you thought Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were all set to divvy up golf's biggest prizes, along comes big-hitting Dustin Johnson. The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.
Next week's Open at Royal Troon could be a classic
Which leads us on to a new section of our website - our regular poll, and we want your votes. Tell us who you think will win the Open Championship next week; will it be Day, Johnson, Spieth, McIlroy or A.N. Other?
