FREE loft and lie checks
Having the right equipment for your game is essential and knowing how to use it properly is another important aspect to playing good golf.
This August we are offering FREE loft and lie check on your set of irons. This process takes no more than 5 minutes and will provide you with peace of mind that your equipment is set up correctly, we can also offer expert advice if your current loft and lie angles are incorrect for you.
We will also look at the gaps between each iron, this should be spread out evenly through the set usually 3 or 4 degrees apart, 1 degree equating to 4 yards. It is not uncommon that over time your irons may have altered from what they were when they we brand new. This sometimes explains why you have a huge yardage gap between certain clubs.
We recognise that not everyone has the same golf swing, so it is important that you have clubs that are custom fit to your specifications. Having custom-fit clubs will help to give you the confidence to play your best.

Junior Captain's Charity Event
Don't forget that this Sunday see's the Junior Captain's Charity Event at Preston Golf Club.

Golf competition details
Emily would like to draw the teams out of a hat, so there's no need to get a full team together yourself - if you're interested don't be shy just add your name to the list. She would like to have a Junior (Under 25), a Senior (50+), a Lady and a Gentleman member in each of the 21 teams, this will enable you all to mix and get to know fellow members of the golf club that you probably do not usually play golf with.
The draw for the teams will take place at 10am on the morning so please feel free to be in the President's suite for when this happens. Refreshments will be available. With 21 teams we have spaces for 84 golfers so please show your support.
Cost? Golf & BBQ £25 for all adults and £13 for the Junior team members. BBQ only £8 per person or a Family ticket is available for only £24 : A family ticket = 2 adults & 2 Children (under 12's)
Attractions available on the day include various competitions, stalls and games for all the family: Cake stall, Candy floss, Tombola, Hook a Duck, Raffle, Coconut Shy, Treasure Hunt, Guess the number of sweets in the jar, Play Your Cards Right, Putting Competition.
For the 'BBQ only' attendees for catering purposes, can we please ask you to purchase your BBQ ticket in advance.
On the day a BBQ voucher can be collected and will entitle the bearer to: A Burger or Hot Dog, Kofte Kebab, Piece of Chicken, Salad, Relish's and Sauces per person. Please pre order any special dietary option, i.e. vegetarian, prior to the day, directly with the caterer.
If the weather is of the inclement precipitation type, we will relocate within the club house areas. So please come along and support your club!
