Tom Finney Memorial
Sundays Tom Finney Memorial saw the start of the 2016 Golf Festival at PGC. The shotgun start team event attracted 16 teams played ahead of a fundraising presentation dinner and music from our very own Stephen Bayliss who recently joined the club.
This event raises a large amount of money with £4k going to the Space Centre, a truly great effort by Mark Jolly, Nigel Davey and Tony Goddard. The winning team of year 1 and 2 were bidding for 3 in a row but didn't quite make it as Brian Finney, Dave Byrom, Ken Woodfine and Derek Butler.
Floods Strike Again
Heavy rain overnight resulted in the Seniors Open being cancelled on Monday. With 48mm of rain falling overnight and then continued rain during the day the course was under water.
Motocaddy have launched a new electric trolley with brake to help when negotiating downhills. This is common request from my customers so will appeal to electric trolley users at PGC.
Following an extensive upgrade for 2016, the brand new S1 incorporates a number of improvements including a soft-touch ergonomic handle; low-profile, quick-release wheels; a streamlined battery tray; and the super-fast QUIKFOLD assembly mechanism.
Add these to the nine speed settings, battery indicator and whisper-quiet motor, plus adjustable bag supports and compatibility with the popular EASILOCK™ system and it's easy to see why the S1 is the world's favourite electric golf trolley.
Offering all the features of the standard S1, the additional 'DHC' (Downhill Control) functionality means that your trolley will also maintain a constant speed whilst travelling down hills - even on the steepest of slopes. The S1 DHC can also boast an easy-to-use electronic parking brake.
IDEAL FOR : Golfers looking for an easy-to-use trolley for undulating courses.

. Mizuno Launch NEW JPX IRONS
NEW Mizuno JPX and we have them in our DNA cart for you to trial!
The JPX9NT00 Forged is the 2nd generation of Mizuno's Forged irons to use Boron-infused steel, which allows a soft-feeling forged iron to produce higher ball speeds. Whereas Mizuno's 1st generation of Boron steel irons used a uniform, thinner face to generate more distance, the JPX900 Forged pushes the technology forward with a multi-thickness face.
The JPX900 Forged also boasts a milled pocket, which enhances energy transfer over a wider impact area without compromising on Mizuno's renowned feel. The extended pocket cavity allows 21.5g of weight to be redistributed to the extreme corners of the PowerFrame for added stability and reduced distance loss on mishits.
Yet the confidence-inspiring midsize profile will still appeal to professional and elite players, with the shorter irons from 8-GW more compact for extra precision and control at the scoring end of the bag.Click here
