A busy week getting golfers game ready for 2017!

This week the pros have been busy helping members and visitors to the range with their games. Lessons, club fits, gapping sessions, re-grips and loft and lie checks.

I picked out a couple of my lessons this week to share with you. Dave Stone, a 4 handicapper from St Annes Old has been working with me for 3-4 years now. Dave is a very naturally talented golfer who is disgusted at the look of his backswing on camera and even suggested that it makes Jim Furyks backswing look great!

The big request from Dave was to uncomplicate and tidy up the backswing.

You can see the changes, Dave used to overswing and the club would get across the line as a result of incorrect wrist hinge in the backswing. We have carried out this work in the comfort of the swing studio using GASP video analysis and the added benefit of seeing ball flight.

We have a fantastic facility here at Preston Golf Club, where we can provide a number of services delivered by the strongest Professional team in the area.

My next featured lesson is Ian Brae from Longridge Golf Club. I last saw Ian over 12 months ago when we worked on helping the swing by controlling the location of his high centre, ie neck area.

Ian visited me this week with his game in tatters. Poor strike and poor direction. When we put his swing on camera, it all became apparent what was happening.

After some much needed changes, see below, Ian instantly started striking the ball better and improved his direction too.

 

Golf lessons can be so easy when the camera shows us. The picture tells a 1000 words!

A very popular package at the moment has been the Golf MOT Package which includes:

- 1 Hour swing session in the Studio with Video Analysis and Flightscope Data.

There were 23 golfers that took part on Friday and £57.50 was shared over 4 prizes.

Winner - G Driscoll - £25, 2nd - D Arkwright - £15, 3rd - B Kellett - £10, 4th - P Fletcher - £7.50

Well played guys and thank you for supporting the series. Spread the word and hopefully we can get a few more players on board over the coming weeks.

The next event is this weekend's Individual Stableford, get involved and win good money with all entry funds being returned in prize winnings.
