Drone Image Of PGC When the Bowker Group visited us last week for their centenary golf day, they had a photographer present using a drone. Here is just one of the images that he has provided me with. I have lots more, including some fly-overs that will hopefully be used in some of our promotional activity and on the website in the future. |
Scoring Game Masterclass at Preston Golf Club Hosted by Simon Edwards, European Senior Tour Coach Simon’s latest research has proven that golfers lose almost 80 percent of their shots to par inside of 100 yards from the hole. To that end, this masterclass focuses on what Simon defines as “The Scoring Game,” a combination of the short game (distance wedges, pitching, chipping, sand play) and putting, which comprise 60 to 65 percent of the total number of shots played per round. From three-foot putts to full wedge and long bunker shots, you will learn to properly execute shots from any scoring position. This masterclass incorporates video tuition with all relevant drills and exercises emailed to every participant. I use Feedback devices and training tools to help golfers play all the shots on and around the green with confidence and consistency. Much more than a simple "golf lesson", this masterclass is the most effective and permanent way to lower your handicap. |

Koepka walks the walk In an interview prior to the start of The PGA Championship, Brooks Koepka was quoted as saying he believes ‘Majors are the easiest tournaments to win’. Big words indeed, but the 29-year-old American backed up his claim by taking a wire-to-wire victory in New York. But only just… After heading into Sunday with a seven-shot lead, victory should have been a mere formality. However, the back nine at Bethpage Black proved problematic for Koepka as four straight bogeys through holes 11 to 14 left the chasing Dustin Johnson with a sniff of victory. Back-to-back bogeys at 16 and 17 quickly put paid Johnson’s challenge as Koepka proved he more than has the ability to match his talk by holding out for his fourth major title with a two-shot victory.

Most overlooked club in the bag? |
Thankfully, the penny has dropped when it comes to the importance of getting custom fitted for a new driver or set of irons. Unfortunately, we still see the vast majority of golfers overlook this process when it comes to their fairway woods, but why? |
| How often do you use yours? |
|
“I wouldn’t use it often enough” “It's too expensive” “It's not necessary” Yeah, I guess if you’re not concerned with shooting lower scores and maximising your potential then a custom fitted fairway wood isn’t that important. However, if improving your game is something you want to achieve, then having a full set of custom fitted clubs is vital, especially when it comes to gapping between your driver and irons.

Srixon Z F85 fairway woods One option that we'll definitely get you to try is this beauty from Srixon. It's the only fairway wood in their 2019 range and for good reason, too. A combination of Srixon's Cup Face and Crown Step produce a powerful club that offers consistent distance across the face. So, let’s get you booked in for a custom fitting with a member of the team and harness your potential with the most overlooked club in the bag. |
