Festival Week Vouchers Congratulations to all who had success in the recent Festival week. All members who picked up prizes have now had the monies credited to their accounts in the professional shop. All visitor vouchers will be sent to the lead name of the competition booking. What’s Been Happening At The Club This Week – In Short! Junior Captains charity day raised almost £6,000.00 for Amy’s charity. Sunday was Charity Cup day at Shaw Hill for the men and Ashton and Lea for the ladies. Our men’s team were leading with only a group or two to come in but ended up missing out by 3 points. Phil Eaton won best individual with 39 points. In one we week we say goodbye to Keith Melia, our club secretary who is moving onto Gathurst Golf Club. Greens Top dressing took place on Monday but even today the greens were rolling true again. The driving range has been busy again this month and continues to be full during peak times in the evening. New mats and new balls are very popular. The range is currently over £20,000 up against the last financial year. Simulator screen replacement, a new screen is on order ready for the busy winter period. Congratulations to Chris Hart who won the Clemesha with a score of 137, Simon Marshall put in a 2nd round score of 64 (it’s been coming) to take 2nd place on 139 and John Clare on 140 finished 3rd. Pam Grogan, Jane Edwards and Linda Thompson (1st overall) topped their divisions in the Elizabeth Jones Trophy. Andrew had 4 days in Carnoustie with Mark Henderson, Michael Proudfoot and Chris Hill and returned with the silverware. |
