We have a new section to add to this weeks newsletter, " On the course with Jonny" and the aim is to update you on various aspects of work, change and development around the golf course. As many members will be aware after playing the course, due to the recent restrictions, we have had to reduce maintenance on certain less essential jobs. One of the most obvious and talked about has been the fringes of bunkers, with many enjoying this aesthetic change. As a result, we have decided to trial on certain bunkers, a hybrid approach to the usual perfectly presented edges. Following feedback from the members, we will decide whether this could be a permanent feature on selected bunkers or revert back. It’s great to have everyone back golfing again, thank you for your continued support.
Jonny and the team. On a personal note, I am fond of the hybrid approach as it offers an added aesthetic to the course presentation and contrasts nicely with the fine finish cut around the back edges of bunkers. For some there may be an added benefit, the ball may be held on the bank instead of rolling back into the trap. Bonus! |
