| James enjoying his work experience
| You may have seen me in the shop during the last two weeks. I am currently doing work experience with Andrew and the team in the pro shop. Ever since my dad took me down to the range for the first time, I was hooked and intrigued on how the pro shop was run. On my first shift, Andrew threw me into the deep helping run a mens competition! At first I was very nervous, however working in the pro shop has taught me vital lessons in communication and interacting with members and visitors to the club. I have always been excited at the thought of working in the sport. I am really enjoying working in one of the best pro shops in the area and it is great to hear visitors and societies complimenting the team on how well stocked the pro shop is. Working in the pro shop has truly opened my eyes on how the business is run, there is a constant flow of enquiries on membership, visiting parties, tee times , lessons and of course the driving range users. I'd like to thank Andrew and Sean for showing me the ropes and you , the membes for welcoming me into the team.

Popov and DJ in leagues of their own There are sporting shocks, and then there’s the World No. 304 winning a Major! Germany’s Sophia Popov finished on -7 at Royal Troon to claim victory at the AIG Women’s Open. Despite having never won on the LPGA or Ladies European Tour before, the 27-year-old fought off challenges from stars like World No. 8 Minjee Lee and seven-time Major Champion Inbee Park. Meanwhile, on the PGA Tour, Dustin Johnson won The Northern Trust, the first FedEx Cup playoff event, by shooting a staggering -30. That ended up being an 11-stroke victory, which raises the age-old question of what’s more entertaining:
An all-out birdie fest or tough, battling golf? Shooting these sort of scores requires immense confidence in your game. So, if there's a part of yours that you're particularly struggling with, send us a message below and we'll be happy to help.
