| Well done Janey!
| On Tuesday of this week, our 2020 Lady Captain Jane Young presented Cancer Research UK with a cheque for £3,000.00. With all that has stood in our way during the year, fundraising has certainly not been easy and I am sure you will join me in congratulating Jane on a great achievement. Jane was incredibly touched at the number of ladies who came along to support the occasion, considering the ladies Turkey Shoot competition was cancelled. Below, Jane is presented with her Past Lady Captains brooch by Kate Crewdson. |

PGC JOIN IN TO HELP - PLEASE READ |
Please take a minute to read an open and honest account of operating a charity during these times. Preston GC and I have put a prize together to help raise funds for a very worthy cause. If you can help by offering a gift donation for their auction, please contact Laura Brown at CH. CancerHelp Preston is a small, independent, local charity that supports individuals and their families affected by a cancer diagnosis. Counselling, alternative therapies and support groups are provided free of charge to children, adults and families. All charities have been hit hard this year and CancerHelp is no exception. We have had to close our charity shops which bring in a large part of our income and our supporters have not been able to fundraise with sports activities or events. So, we’ve decided to get a bit creative and this Christmas are offering something a little different.? Our wonderful supporters have donated a range of fabulous items and we are auctioning these online in the run up to Christmas. These range from golf days, Aston Martin Jackets and signed celebrity photos to cases of wine, luxury hampers and designer accessories. So whether you fancy something special for yourself as a treat after this crazy year, or want to buy a Christmas present for someone special, then look no further - plenty of items are available. All ?proceeds will go to support CancerHelp Preston in 2021 and allow them to continue offering services to those affected by a cancer diagnosis. Collection of items will be from Vine House in Garstang and full details will be sent out to the winning bidders. ?Payment for winning bids can be made via cash, cheque or via bank transfer and again, full details will be provided. The auction is live now and ends on Thursday 17 December. https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/chpchristmasauction And if you have anything you would like to donate in order to support us, then please do get in touch - new lots can be added at any time. email marketing@cancerhelppreston.co.uk Thanks for your support!

There’s no place like home, right? That was certainly the case for Christiaan Bezuidenhout as the South African went back-to-back on home soil, winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship and South African Open for his second and third European Tour titles. Having struggled on Sunday’s front-nine, Bezuidenhout looked in danger of blowing a five-stroke lead over veteran Jamie Donaldson. However, he found comfort in the arms of his irons down the stretch: Finding greens and attacking pins when it mattered most. This isn’t just important for a European Tour player. Whether you’re looking for the sanctuary of the green or trying to knock it close, good iron-play is critical. So, why not click the button below to book some lessons with us now?
