Putting at home...

Time to get your putter in hand and set up some of the drills shown above.

Here are some practice drills to help golfers improve their putting. So, give it a go and maybe you will see the benefit when we get back to golf.

I like the new look approach to the second hole.

I wonder how many of our low handicappers will now consider hitting driver and getting close enough to leave a straight forward pitch up the green.

There is no change for those who's ball typically finishes between the bunker and the foot of the gully. You will have a clearer route to the green should you hit it a little to far into the dog leg.

For those who can't reach the bunker with the tee shot, you have multiple options where as previously, many found their hand was forced to punt the ball to the bottom of the slope before playing up to the green. Some would say not how a 330 yard hole should play.  

I'm sure you will have your own thoughts but for me, the changes are positive and the right thing to do...

Golf on Tour

Tour golf is very much a way of life and an unforgiving one at that. As recently as 2019, Harris English was struggling to return to the PGA Tour, having lost his card and been demoted to the Korn Ferry Tour (this is the feeder tour to the PGA, much like the Challenge Tour in Europe).

Now, English is a PGA Tour champion once again. The 31-year-old picked up his first victory since 2013 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, having fought off Justin Thomas’ pursuit of a third title in five years at the event. What an achievement, and one for the sentimentalists.
