Development coaching for all

This week we kicked off three coaching programmes for the new season.

We now have beginner and developing golfer group lessons running for Junior, Ladies and Gents.

Calling all girls - Summer 2021

Preston GC has been successful in their application to be part of the GGR 2021 programme.

What is Girls Golf Rocks all about?

Girls Golf Rocks encourages beginner girls aged between 5-18 years to learn and play golf in a fun and friendly way.

The programme runs nationally across all 35 counties in England and we have 200 host clubs/facilities taking part. Our clubs aim to create an environment where girls feel comfortable and confident to participate and offer a clear pathway for them to continue their participation. Girls Golf Rocks ambassadors will be on hand at the clubs to support new participants during their sessions. The programme is delivered in girls-only group sessions over a 6 week period with the final session being out on the course. What a shoot-out!

The Zurich Classic – a unique tournament that flip-flops between fourball & foursomes formats – served up one of the most enthralling shoot-outs of the year on Sunday evening as Australia and South Africa added another classic sporting rivalry to the list.

The team from Down Under, Cameron Smith & Mark Leishman, traded birdies and bogeys in frantic fashion with South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel. After Smith found the water on the 17th, Leishman chipped-in to save the day. A rash drive into the drink from Oosthuizen in the playoff proved far more costly; failing to recover and handing the Aussies a hard-fought, thrilling victory in New Orleans.
