Professional winter series continues.
This Saturday will see the continuation of The Pro's Winter Series Competition. A series of competitions that will be held on non, club competition Saturdays between now and the opening sides match of 2015. These events will form an order of merit with your points from each event counting towards qualification to the grand final event held in March 2015, when the leading 12 scorers will play for the Winter Series Trophy and a 1st prize of £100
Winter series 1 - Results
The winner was George Dean with a good score of 40 points. Second place was taken by Andy Simpson who posted a score of 38 points and Kevin Rolfe finished 3rd with 36 points.
As with last year, the competitions will rotate 3 formats of play and they are as followed -
Week 1 - Individual Stableford
Week 2 - 4BBB Stableford
Week 3 - Texas Scramble (4 or 3 Persons) Stableford
All entry monies will be paid back in prize values each week and results are to be posted in my newsletter on a weekly basis. Who can play in these competitions? Members both Male, Female and Juniors. The more the merrier!

Night Golf Event
Thanks to all who have shown interest in the Night golf Event. This really is a unique experience and one not to be missed!

Flightscope Feedback
I have chosen to share with you two sessions delivered using Flightscope in the past week.
1) Clubfitting session to help provide our customer with a new iron set that will increase his distances. Without changing technique, fitting the correct shaft and head combination gave fantastic improvements. Click here to see the results
2) Golf lesson session using Flightscope to help the pupil understand why his ball does what it does. The example in picture 1 shows a typical pull/fade/slice type swing using understandable imagery. As you can see the golfers arc / swing line is strongly left and in order to promote a change to this flight will need to be re aligned, as seen in picture 2. Golfers often think that swing change is like amputation of a limb! It doesn't have to be and in this case the golfer made the change illustrated in 2 swings. #thepowerofflightscope

The New Titleist 915 Driver and Fairways!
Steve Crake was our first Titleist 915 customer. Having picked up his new driver on Friday, Steve put it straight into play on Saturday morning and BOOM!
Steve by his own admission is a true golf club junky and has tested nearly every driver in my shop but has now found his new best friend. One that is long and straight! Having been so impressed with the driver, Steve has added a 16* 3wood and 20.5* HD Hybrid.
For all if you Titleist junkys out there, this 915 is by far the best product they have ever produced. In the past the Titleist driver has really only suited the lower handicap golfer but now with a far more forgiving club head it will suit a greater range of players.

Titleist Pro V1 Practice
Many of you have asked me about getting your hands on some Titleist Pro V1 Practice balls. We now have these in stock and available to purchase in 12's at £24.00 per Dozen
Crested PGC Garments
Members can now get any item of clothing in store embroidered for just £5. This takes roughly 7 working days to send off and receive with the PGC Crest embroidered to your preferred posotion on the clothing.
Christmas Draw
Once again we are doing a Christmas draw which is £5 per square on the board! There is potentially £1000 in prizes to be won for the lucky winners! There will be a first, second and third prize so head to the shop now as it is filling up quickly!
Junior Development Programme
Over the last couple of months the Academy has been working hard to improve the juniors development and we are now pleased to say that a 4 Hole Junior Winter League will start and encourage juniors to play more golf.
A relationship has been made with the Golf Foundation to offer a structured coaching scheme in the form of the re designed junior passport programme which covers all the areas we would wish from a upcoming junior golfer. Each junior will receive a Passport, which is a record on each individual's progress.
Along with the relationship with the golf foundation, a £500 pot of funding has been accessed and will go into the JDP to allow us to offer taster sessions into the local community.
Do you know a Junior interested in learning a new skill?
The Junior Golf Passport programme, which runs midweek after school hours and Saturday mornings from 9am until 12pm is open to all under 14's who are looking to start golf.
The cost of the sessions is £28 per month One to one sessions are also available to more advance golfers to help with their development.

2015 will see your professional shop named as one of Mizuno's elite DNA Fitting Centres. This takes our fitting options at PGC to 7 brands, something no other pro shop in this area offers.

Keep your game in shape!!!!! Don't forget new Assistant Professional Peter Finch is running weekly ROLL UP tuition at the Academy. A great way to keep your swing in shape with no booking required just roll up and improve your golf.

Cash for clubs
We are often asked if we accept trade-in 's. The answer is YES! We actually want your old clubs!
We also have a facility to convert those old clubs that are sat in your locker or garage into money. Providing these clubs are a reputable brand and not too old we can move them on for you and convert them into funds that will be applied to your customer account in the pro shop for you to spend at you convenience.
